EMDR
According to EMDR International Association, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders (emdria.org). This type of therapy is designed to help process and heal emotional distress, past traumatic memories and other adverse life experiences. This is a structured, protocol driven therapeutic treatment that allows for rapid healing then other psychotherapies.
I am currently trained in EMDR treatment, and I am working towards certification. I completed my EMDR training back in April of 2021 with Dr. DaLene Forester with Advance Education Institute.
If you are interested in learning more about this treatment, please contact me to conduct a 15-minute mini consultation to help you understand if this treatment is right for you.
First Responders
First responders are cut from a unique fabric that really separates them from the rest of the world. These men and women dedicate their lives to the wellbeing, health and safety of others as they selflessly place their lives on the line, day in and day out, with minimal praise and recognition. As a former first responder, I understand the unique challenges that may reside in the first responder. My compassion, humor and direct approach, allows the first responder to feel understood, seen and heard. If you are a first responder, and are looking for a culturally competent clinician, please contact me to conduct a 15-minute mini consultation.
Interested in any of the services or have an interest in working with Me? Please contact me for a free 15-minute consultation to determine if I am a right fit for you.
Trauma Informed Care
Trauma Informed Care or TIC, is a trauma-informed approach that shifts the focus from “what’s wrong with you?” to “what happened to you?” This is a clinical lens that allows me to practice sound, respectful, safe, and trustworthy clinical care in trauma therapy. TIC allows for healing and recovery-based treatment, which allows me to effectively use EMDR and Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy practices to help you heal. If you are interested in trauma recovery, please contact me to conduct a 15-minute mini consultation.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy, also known as talk therapy, is a great starting place for those who are starting out in therapy for the first time and are not familiar with the different therapy treatments. It is also a great for those who are coming back to therapy as well. Psychotherapy is a collaborative treatment based on the relationship between you and the therapist. I offer an objective, neutral and nonjudgmental environment that can allow openness to speak freely. This process allows you to identify and change any thought and behavior patterns that may cause depression, anxiety or other mental health disturbances. I generally start with this approach in therapy and then with a person-centered, goal driven approach, determine what treatment is appropriate and necessary for healing. If you are interested in thought and behavior change, please contact me to conduct a 15-minute mini consultation.
Consultation
Consultation is a great way for fellow therapists to connect and gain an outsider’s perspective. If you are a therapist looking to consult either about a specific case, looking to learn more about trauma work, needing career advice and don’t have other clinicians to consult with, I am happy to discuss and consult with you. I am also available to consult about first responders and I am willing to offer support and insights if you find yourself working with this population. Please contact me for a free 15-minute consultation to determine if I am a right fit for you.
Group Therapy
NO GROUP THERAPY PLANNED AT THIS TIME 1/2025
Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy that is conducted by one or more therapists with either a small or large group of people to discuss relevant topics. Group therapy is a wonderful way to bring people together that share at least one commonality and is effective in reducing depression, anxiety and other mental health disorders. I offer an ongoing process group, specifically catered to first responders. The intention of this process group is to offer support, safety, and encouragement from other first responders who may share similar experiences. If you are interested in joining a process group, please contact me for further information.
